Tesla Confirms Cybertruck Demand Drops to 5,000 Units Per Quarter
Yesterday, Tesla released its Q2 2025 delivery data, where it confirmed that demand for its Cybertruck electric pickup truck continues to decline.
From April to June inclusive, Tesla delivered 373,728 Model 3 and Model Y units to customers, and only 10,394 units of all other models. According to Electrek, which relies on registration data in different countries, the older liftback and SUV together accounted for about 5,000 sales. Accordingly, the share of the pickup truck is approximately the same. For comparison, Ford sold 5,842 of its F-150 Lightnings in the second quarter – 26% less than in the same period of 2024, but apparently still more than Tesla managed to sell.
According to Automotive News, in the first quarter, the Tesla Cybertruck also lost out to Ford’s electric pickup in popularity, with sales figures at 7,126 and 7,913 units, respectively.
Previously, it was planned to produce more than 250 thousand Cybertrucks annually, but the real state of affairs looks different – volumes have collapsed to 20 thousand per year.
