AMD Introduces Pensando Pollara 400

At the recent Advanced AI event, AMD unveiled the Pensando Pollara 400 network card with support for 400 Gbps speed. This is the industry’s first solution compatible with the Ultra Ethernet 1.0 standard. The said standard was approved by the consortium of the same name this week and is designed for AI and HPC data centers.

Pensando Pollara provides data transfer speeds of up to 400 Gbps and, of course, is not aimed at the consumer market, but at data centers.

Systems with Instinct MI350X AI accelerators and these Pensando Pollara 400GbE NICs will be widely available in the second half of this year. The Pensando Pollara 400GbE NICs will be especially useful for Oracle, which plans to widely deploy AMD’s latest AI GPUs and build a zettascale AI cluster with 131,072 Instinct MI355X accelerators to enable its customers to train and infer AI models at scale.

AMD is already shipping the Pensando Pollara 400 to interested customers.
