Drone Delivery in Utah: Zipline and Intermountain Healthcare Launch Program
The new medical drone delivery system will be unveiled on October 4th. The launch is a collaborative effort between Intermountain Healthcare and Zipline.
The system is designed to deliver prescriptions and medical devices directly to the patient’s door.
Both companies call it a unique patient service and the first of its kind in Utah’s healthcare system. Drone delivery will be available throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
Intermountain Healthcare is the first health care system west of the Mississippi River to use Zipline to deliver prescription and over-the-counter drugs to homes through a Zipline on-demand logistics system that includes all-electric autonomous aircraft. This allows Intermountain to bring patients first aid in person or the world around them, as well as favorable conditions so that patients can increase their growth rate and have favorable opportunities, which is especially important if they are less mobile, sick or work, which makes them less mobile, or it is difficult to get to places or pharmacies to get medicines.
