Pure Electric’s New e-Scooter Will Make You Safer
Pure Electric unveiled its latest range of e-scooters at a presentation in Paris. Designed and manufactured in the UK, Pure Advance, Pure Advance Plus and Pure Advance Flex feature an unusual new design.
Instead of a narrow deck where you place your feet one behind the other, the new Pure Advance scooters share the deck on either side of the central chassis and as a result they are very different from most e-scooters.
One of the first things you might notice on scooters is the deck. You usually stand on the scooter with one foot in front of the other in a slightly twisted position. The Pure replaces the standard deck with two footpegs that protrude from the side so that the person’s feet remain shoulder-width apart, facing forward. This seating position brings riders “lower to the ground for a more stable and comfortable ride”. There is also a proprietary Pure Control technology to stabilize the steering wheel. With each turn, the steering wheel smoothly and automatically returns to its original position.
Other notable safety features include 10-inch “puncture-resistant” scooter tires, dual braking systems, and a series of bright LED lights dotted around the scooters. Pure claims the front light is “four times brighter” than on older models.
