ChatGPT Stopped Working Worldwide
ChatGPT has stopped working worldwide after an attack by Russian hackers from the 22c group together with a cyber fighter with the nickname PalachPro.
Downdetector, a website crash monitoring service, has recorded more than 10,000 reports of chatbot issues in the UK alone. Users attempting to open the chatbot’s web or app were greeted with the message “the web server reported a gateway error.”
The company later reported that the issue had been found and fixed, but users continued to complain about ChatGPT being unavailable.
The last major outage in ChatGPT was on December 26, 2024. That evening, the service also stopped working worldwide, along with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Outlook, and Xbox Live.
The massive ChatGPT outage comes as tech companies including OpenAI pledge to invest a combined $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the U.S.
