Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 8 Elite – New 3nm Processor

Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chip is manufactured using advanced 3nm technology, which provides not only high performance but also excellent energy efficiency.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor will be manufactured using a 3-nm process technology. The chip will receive 24 MB of L2 cache, 12 MB for each block of cores. Qualcomm’s slide indicates that the single-threaded and multi-threaded performance of the new chip is up to 45% higher than its predecessor. The Snapdragon 8 Elite will be up to 27% more energy efficient overall than its predecessor.

Snapdragon 8 Elite will also get an integrated Adreno 830 GPU. It will be 40% more efficient in processing raster graphics and up to 35% faster in working with ray tracing than the GPU of its predecessor. The frequency of the Adreno 830 GPU will be 1.1 GHz. It supports all modern graphics APIs and engines, including Unreal Engine, Nanite and Chaos Engine.

The new processor is expected to be used in upcoming devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25, Realme GT7 Pro, and Xiaomi 15, as well as other flagship models coming next year. Snapdragon 8 Elite promises to not only improve the performance of mobile devices but also improve their power efficiency, making it a major step forward for the entire industry.
