“Tron 3” Starring Jared Leto To Start Filming In Summer 2023
Disney is set to begin filming the fantasy film Tron 3 starring Jared Leto in the summer of 2023. The studio has already chosen a director.
According to Deadline, Tron 3 is set to begin production in August. In this case, the premiere will take place no earlier than the end of 2024. The project team will be based in Vancouver, Canada.
Previously, the director was listed as Australian Garth Davis (“The Lion”, “Mary Magdalene”).
Plot details and a sci-fi release date have not been revealed. The script will be written by Jesse Wigatow, who worked on The Crow reboot. Leto first joined the project in 2017. The original “Tron” with Jeff Bridges appeared on the screens in 1982, a sequel “Legacy”, starring Olivia Wilde, followed in 2010.
Ronning also directed the second Maleficent and the Oscar-nominated epic Kon-Tiki in 2013. He is also directing Daisy Ridley’s forthcoming Young Woman and the Sea for Disney.
