Apple WWDC 2026 To Starts On Monday: What To Expect?

From June 8th to 12th, sunny Cupertino will host the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Despite its name, the event will also be of interest to Apple fans, as WWDC is where new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and other Apple operating systems are unveiled.
The main event of the upcoming conference promises to be the announcement of the updated Siri voice assistant, which will gain a host of new capabilities. A standalone app with a chatbot-style interface, support for processing multiple tasks in a single request, and integration with third-party AI agents, such as Anthropic Claude, is expected. Siri will gain access to users’ personal data and device activity, helping the AI assistant better understand user requests and provide more relevant responses. The service will be based on Google’s Gemini AI model. An update to the Apple Intelligence suite based on local AI models is also expected: wallpaper generation based on text queries, an updated Image Playground app with higher-quality image generation, and Genmoji will be added.
The Camera app will likely receive a major update. It will feature an “Add Widgets” panel: the standard buttons in the top row can be replaced with professional tools, such as depth and exposure adjustments. Users will be able to create complex workflows using natural language instead of step-by-step programming, improving shooting results. It’s possible that AI-powered photos will be able to add a watermark, and visual intelligence features for image search will be improved.
iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 will also receive some of the AI features debuting in iOS 27. tvOS will have expanded support for on-screen text manipulation; VisionOS will help reduce motion sickness when using a headset in a moving vehicle. The latest watchOS 27 will receive new AI features: Google and Samsung have collaborated to offer users personalized workout programs generated by AI. Apple is unlikely to follow suit directly, but will likely find another way to address this issue with its own solutions. Samsung smartwatches offer blood pressure monitoring, but it requires calibration with a blood pressure monitor. It’s possible Apple will offer the same functionality without calibration, but experts are unsure.
Device debuts are rare at WWDC—after all, the conference is primarily dedicated to software. But insiders and journalists have long been talking about the upcoming debut of the second-generation HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV 4K with the A17 chip.
