Boston Dynamics, a Hyundai subsidiary, released a video of the production-ready Atlas robot performing a complex gymnastics feat. This is the first live demonstration of this kind, suggesting the vehicle will soon go on sale.

In the video, Atlas demonstrates next-level balance and motor control. Unlike previous prototypes featuring somersaults and parkour, this time they showed a production version of the robot, which is approaching commercial use in factories.

The robot is equipped with full-size arms with tactile sensors and fully rotating joints. Atlas can lift up to 50 kg and operate in temperatures ranging from -20 to +40°C, making it suitable for use in challenging industrial environments.

Mass production of the Atlas will help the company become a provider of alternative solutions and diversify its operations amid turmoil in the global auto industry and fierce competition from Chinese players. Hyundai plans to begin rolling out the Atlas at its production facilities in 2028.
