Samsung has unveiled an updated compact projector, the Freestyle Plus, with a brightness of 430 lumens according to the ISO standard. This is “almost double that of the previous generation,” according to the manufacturer, although the Freestyle was advertised at 550 lumens.
The key new feature is AI OptiScreen technology, which uses artificial intelligence for advanced automatic adjustments. The system performs 3D keystone correction on uneven surfaces, maintains focus in real time even during movement, and calibrates the image to the color and texture of the wall or ceiling. These features minimize visual distortion and ensure clarity in a variety of projection conditions.
Automatic setup includes the Screen Fit feature, which resizes the image to fit compatible additional screens. Wall calibration analyzes patterns and colors to reduce distractions and improve image quality. All this allows users to simply position the device and start viewing content with minimal setup.
With 430 ISO lumens, the Freestyle+ overcomes the limitations of previous versions, which used less standardized measurements and had lower brightness in moderate lighting conditions.
Detailed technical specifications for the Samsung Freestyle Plus projector are not being released, and pricing will remain unknown until the device is unveiled at CES 2026. The original model was priced at $899, but given the challenging geopolitical and economic environment, the new model may be priced higher.
