Apple has unveiled the AirPods Pro 3 wireless in-ear headphones, the first major update to the device in three years. The new product features studio-quality sound, an updated design, and more effective noise cancellation. The company has also increased the durability of the headphones, added a new heart rate sensor, and a real-time translation feature.
Apple says the AirPods 3 Pro have the “world’s best active noise cancellation” — twice as effective as the ANC in the AirPods 2 Pro and four times as effective as the ANC in the AirPods Pro.

To improve the fit, the company completely redesigned the internal architecture based on more than 10,000 ear scans and over 100,000 hours of user research, making AirPods Pro 3 even smaller. The new design is based on a dataset of more than 300 million points. Combined with new foam-filled ear tips, now available in five sizes, AirPods Pro 3 provide a stable fit in your ears and a more secure hold during activities like running, HIIT, yoga, and more. AirPods Pro 3 meet the IP57 sweat and water resistance standard, allowing you to take them with you on your workout in any weather.
Autonomy has increased to 8 hours of operation without recharging and up to 10 hours in hearing aid mode. Another “feature” is translation from several languages in real time. If all participants in a conversation have AirPods 3 Pro, then you can communicate naturally. If only one person has headphones, then the answers for the other participants in the conversation are displayed on the iPhone screen in the corresponding language.
AirPods Pro 3 are available for pre-order now for $249 and will begin shipping on September 19.
