Grok Imagine Is Now Free For All Users

Yesterday, OpenAI unveiled a powerful GPT-5 model, and today, Elon Musk’s xAI startup announced that its Grok Imagine AI video generator is now available to all users. No subscription required.

Grok Imagine is one of the few publicly available and free AI-based video generators. It creates short videos based on images uploaded by users. The service is based on the Aurora model and generates videos up to 15 seconds long. Initially, the feature was only available to SuperGrok subscribers in the separate Grok app and to Premium+ subscribers in the X social network, but now the restrictions for the Grok app have been removed. The service offers video creation in three modes: Normal generates “professional” videos, Fun is intended for funny content, and Spicy opens access to the creation of sensitive materials, but with restrictions and strict moderation. It is believed that Grok Imagine is inferior to industry leaders such as Google Veo 3 and OpenAI Sora in terms of video and audio realism.
