Asus Introduces ROG Strix X870-H Gaming WiFi7 S Motherboard
Asus has unveiled its first ROG Strix-H series motherboard with the AMD X870 chipset. The new product is designed for AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000G, and 7000 processors.
The new product is based on the X870 chipset from AMD, which provides USB4, as well as a number of premium networking features such as Wi-Fi 7. The Socket AM5 connector is connected to four DDR5 DIMM slots, a PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, and two M.2 Gen 5 NVMe slots, of which the second slot shares its Gen 5 x4 lanes with a PEG slot. The motherboard also has two additional Gen 4 NVMe slots, one of which is connected to the X870 FCH, and the other shares its lanes with a discrete USB4 host controller connected to the processor. The top Gen 5 NVMe slot is covered by a tall heatsink, and the other three slots are equipped with a flat heatsink shroud.

Networking options include MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5 GbE with a Realtek controller. USB ports include two 40 Gbps USB4 ports with DisplayPort support, two additional 20 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C ports (one on the rear I/O panel, one via a header), four 5 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports on the rear I/O panel, and four additional ports: two 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports.
The board is also equipped with mechanisms for quickly removing the video card and NVMe drives. The ROG Strix X870-H Gaming WiFi7 S is priced at CNY 2,799 (around $390) in China.
