Google Gemini Coming to Cars, Smartwatches, and Headphones
In a statement, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the company plans to integrate Gemini into automotive systems and smartwatches.
During a briefing after the company’s quarterly financial results, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced that Gemini will soon be coming to more devices: “We’ll update the Google Assistant on mobile to Gemini, and later this year we’ll update tablets, cars, and devices that connect to your phone like headphones and watches.” This year’s Google I/O developer conference is scheduled for May 20–21, where the company may elaborate on its plans to expand Gemini’s presence.
While the exact details are lacking, this development does not surprise many. Google invested heavily in the creation of Gemini, so its integration into all the devices where the company develops software was predictable and only a matter of time.
