Zeekr Announces Charging Stations with Record-Breaking 1.2 MW Power

The innovative Zeekr charging station was announced at the Chinese electric car forum.

The presentation of the new Zeekr charging station will take place on April 23 at the Shanghai Auto Show. Its peak capacity will be a record 1.2 MW

Over the past three years, the carmaker has managed to consistently increase the capacity of its proprietary charging stations, first from 360 to 600 kW, and then to 800 kW. The next step is worthy of respect: in the second quarter, Zeekr charging stations with fully liquid cooling of cables will be presented, capable of delivering up to 1.2 MW of peak power.

Currently, the Zeekr Power brand network has 826 express charging stations for electric vehicles, which allow charging 4,007 cars at the same time. The nuance is that there are currently no passenger electric vehicles on the market that can accept 1.2 MW of power during charging. On the contrary, BYD, together with a megawatt charging station, announced the release of electric vehicles that support such power.

Meanwhile, the most advanced charging network in the US and Europe, Tesla Supercharger, currently has terminals with a capacity of only 350 kW, and only at the end of last year was it announced that the most modern V4 terminals would be upgraded to 500 kW.
