Valve Introduced A New Feature For Recording Gameplay On Steam
Valve has introduced the long-awaited game recording feature on Steam, allowing users to save their best moments. Open beta is now available.
The new built-in system for recording and publishing gameplay videos will allow Steam users to not only save their best moments, but also record entire campaigns.
Background recording saves video continuously on the selected drive (within specified duration and space limits), while on-demand recording allows users to manually control the process.
The function is available through the Steam overlay in all games and puts almost no load on the system – Nvidia and AMD video cards offset most of the costs. On PCs with other GPUs, the CPU is used for recording (may affect performance).
Open beta testing of the new feature will begin next week. Valve invites everyone to take part and help improve the system. “We are always striving to improve the user experience on Steam, and your feedback is extremely important to us,” the company said in an official statement
