Motorola Presented Its Flagship Clamshells Razr 50 And 50 Ultra
Motorola has introduced two new foldable smartphones: Razr 50 and 50 Ultra. The first has a simpler filling and costs less, the second is equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and is practically a flagship.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra
The key feature of the Razer 50 Ultra is the external screen, which is larger than last year’s Razr 40 Ultra and also has thinner bezels. It is built on a 4-inch pOLED matrix with a resolution of 1272 × 1080 pixels. It has 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and can display HDR10+ content. In addition, the display claims to support refresh rates from 1 to 165 Hz. The external display allows you to watch videos, use navigation, and also works as a “mirror” for selfies.
The front camera has a 32 megapixel sensor (f/2.4). There are two cameras at the back: a main 50 MP (f/1.7) and a 50 MP telephoto (f/2.0) with 2x zoom.
The internal flexible display measures 6.9 inches. It is also based on a pOLED matrix, but with a resolution of 2640 × 1080 pixels and DCI-P3 coverage of 120%. The display also supports dynamic refresh rates from 1 to 165 Hz. The peak brightness of the screen is 3000 cd/m2. At the top there is a peephole of a 32-megapixel camera with f/2.4 optics.
The 4000 mAh battery supports 45 W fast charging, as well as 15 W wireless charging. The phone runs Android 14 (Moto MyUX). IPX8 rated housing.
Prices: 5699 yuan for the 12+256 GB version and 6199 yuan for 12+512 GB.
Motorola Razr 50
The younger smartphone received a 3.6-inch external POLED display, instead of the 1.5-inch one in the Razr 40. The internal panel is like the “Ultra”: 6.9 inches, Full HD+, 3000 nits.
Like the older model, the Razr 50 is housed in a body with aluminum frames and has a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel main camera with optical stabilization. However, the second rear camera on the Razr 50 has a resolution of 13 megapixels.
The Razr 50 uses the new MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, introduced last month and designed specifically for foldable devices with dual screens.
The battery capacity of the Razr 50 is 4200 mAh. It supports 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Razr 50 costs CNY 3,699 ($510/€475) for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage version and CNY 3,999 ($550/€515) for the 12GB RAM/512GB storage variant.
