Samsung Released The Galaxy SmartTag 2 Tracker
Samsung has introduced the second version of its Galaxy SmartTag item tracker. If the first model was diamond-shaped, the second one received an oblong shape with a large hole. It has become more convenient to attach the gadget to the belts of bags and backpacks, and also to carry it in a keychain.
In addition to the new shape, the SmartTag2 has a larger mounting hole reinforced with a metal ring inside. The new model also boasts improved build quality, with IP67 water and dust protection rating instead of IP53 of its predecessor.
SmartTag2 also received a Lost Mode for pet owners. A SmartTag2 user can enter their contact information, such as a phone number, and if a pet goes missing, the finder can scan the tag using an NFC-enabled phone and the owner’s contact information will automatically be displayed. SmartTag 2 also supports the new Pet Walking Mode, which makes it easier to record pet walks.
SmartTag 2 also features an enhanced Compass View feature for easier UWB tracking. Additionally, Samsung has made it easier for users to re-sync their tags when switching Galaxy phones. The new tracker will automatically re-sync with the user’s new phone if they are logged in with the same Samsung account.
Galaxy SmartTag2 supports smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and UWB by default. Previously, only the SmartTag+ version had UWB connectivity, while the regular SmartTag was limited to Bluetooth.
Galaxy SmartTag 2 comes in black and white colors and costs $30. You can add a silicone case to your purchase.
