Razer Reveals $400 Pocket Console

Razer recently unveiled a 5G portable device focused on cloud gaming. The company took the opportunity at RazerCon to officially announce the system it calls the Razer Edge.

The Razer Edge is equipped with the latest Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 gaming platform and supports all modern cloud gaming services, including Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) and Nvidia GeForce Now. The Epic Games Store and Steam Link will also come pre-installed.  The console itself runs on Android and supports native games for this OS.

The powerful Razer Edge 5G chip is paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, expandable with microSD cards up to 2TB. The screen is 6.8-inch with an AMOLED matrix, a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

The device is also equipped with a 5 MP front camera, 2-way speakers with 2 digital microphones and THX Spatial Audio. Battery – 5,000 mAh.  Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E are supported.

The cost of the 5G version hasn’t been revealed yet, but the Wi-Fi-only variant will cost $400.
