Polestar 4 Debuts At Shanghai Auto Show This Month

Polestar, the Swedish car company, has confirmed that it will be unveiling the Polestar 4 EV at the Shanghai Auto Show next week on April 18.

The model was announced back in 2021.  During this time, the automaker has released several teasers. According to Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath, the Polestar 4 is not just a modified version of the Polestar 3, but a new generation of coupe SUVs.

The new teaser highlights the sharp headlight of the Polestar 4 and part of the sculpted hood. The SUV is expected to borrow the architecture from Geely. The automaker hopes the new model will be “the fastest Polestar production car to date.”

Specifications of the electric car Polestar has not yet made public. It is expected that the cross-coupe will share the engine range with the Zeekr 001, whose power plants are capable of developing up to 544 hp. This will make the Polestar 4 the brand’s fastest model, but only until the release of the Polestar 5 sedan, which is promised 880 hp engines. The serial version of the sedan will be presented next year, and sales of the cross-coupe can start as early as this year.

There is no word on pricing or availability for the Polestar 4 at this time. The company is currently accepting pre-orders for the Polestar 3, which starts at $85,300 in the US and is expected to go into production later this year.
