Netflix To Release ‘Stranger Things’ Animated Spin-Off
Netflix is releasing an animated spin-off of Stranger Things. This was reported by Engadget.
The company has announced an animated series set in the universe of the show. Details about the plot of the project have not yet been disclosed. It will be created by Eric Robles (Fanboy & Chum Chum, Glucotechnics) and Flying Bark Productions.
The Duffer brothers and producer Shawn Levy, who also worked on Stranger Things, will also work on the animated series. “The script and art direction is incredible,” said the Duffers.
“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling,” the Duffer brothers told.
The original series has been renewed for a fifth and final season, but it and the animated show are far from the only Stranger Things projects in development. There’s also a VR game due later this year, a stage show for London’s West End, and another non-animated spin-off.
