Neuralink Is Looking For A Second Volunteer For A Brain Implant Experiment

Neurotechnology company Neuralink has begun accepting applications to participate as the second patient in a clinical trial for a brain implant that allows you to control your computer and phone with your thoughts. This was stated by its founder Elon Musk.

An advertisement has already been posted on the Neuralink website; applicants must meet certain requirements: the patient must suffer from quadriplegia or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which causes progressive muscle paralysis. By the end of this year, the company expects to carry out several new operations to implant an implant into the human brain, allowing it to read impulses for almost eight hours without recharging.

Previously, Musk announced the successful implantation of a Neuralink implant into a human brain on January 28. The first volunteer, 29-year-old Nolan Arbaugh, said he was paralyzed in an accident about eight years ago, leaving him with no feeling from his shoulders down. Now a man can move the cursor on the chessboard on his laptop screen with the power of thought, rearranging the pieces. According to Arbaugh, he plays computer games with breaks to recharge the device.
