Motorola Unveils It’s First Foldable Smartphone
While Samsung and Huawei are racing to release foldable smartphones, Motorola seems to be trying to do something in this area, but at the same time it can afford to skip a whole generation.
Now it became clear what this approach could be connected with. It turned out that the company had been actively working on a prototype smartphone with a retractable screen all this time.
During the Lenovo Tech World 2022 event, Motorola showed off a new smartphone concept with a rollable OLED display. The device can extend and “collapse” the display at the touch of a button. When the display is folded down, it measures just over 4 inches, and when extended, Motorola claims it measures 6.5 inches.
The company’s video only gives us a glimpse of the front of the device, but it appears that the bottom of the phone is where the display pops out from. Motorola has not yet provided a 360-degree image of the device and has not disclosed any plans to mass-produce or sell the device. However, it’s interesting to look at the concept and the form factor that may become very popular in the future.
Unfortunately, Motorola did not disclose the release date for this model.
