Figure AI hosted an eight-hour livestream featuring humanoid F.03 robots sorting packages on a conveyor belt. The video garnered 10 million views, but not everyone believed it was real.
According to Figure AI, humanoid robots have already sorted over 28,000 parcels, maintaining a speed close to that of humans. The livestream attracted the attention of people, many of whom watched the parcel sorting with interest after the testing process lasted over eight hours. The company noted that the robots successfully detect barcodes on parcels, moving them to the correct conveyor belts using onboard cameras and AI-powered algorithms.
The announcement stated that the humanoid robots will perform all actions autonomously, using the Helix-02 neural network, which operates locally. The company emphasized that the entire process is completely autonomous and that the robots were not remotely controlled at any point. “There is no teleoperation—every action comes directly from Helix-02,” Adcock stated.
It was also stated that if a robot encounters an unfamiliar situation or difficulties, the AI algorithm can restart the system to resume operations without human intervention. The robots can independently leave their workstations for maintenance if software or hardware issues arise. If this occurs and one robot leaves its station for a period of time, another robot will perform its operations to ensure the process continues uninterrupted.
Ten million views for a video of robots in a warehouse is certainly impressive. But the comments are full of skeptics who doubt the process is fully autonomous. However, Figure AI is clearly prioritizing publicity and transparency—streaming their machines in real time is a bold move, no matter how perfect everything goes behind the scenes.
