Xiaomi Is Preparing A Black Shark Smart Ring With Phenomenal Autonomy
Xiaomi’s sister brand Black Shark, known for gaming devices and accessories, announced the release of its first smart ring. Its main feature will be incredible autonomy, reaching 180 days.
With such survivability, the ring was kept very thin – only 2.2 mm. This makes the ring almost invisible when worn daily.
Black Shark claims 180 days of battery life, which is much more than what Samsung promised for the upcoming Galaxy Ring. At the end of MWC 2024, the Korean company confirmed that its smart ring will last between five and nine days on a single charge.
It should, however, be taken into account that Black Shark did not specify the operating mode and measurement methodology. 180 days could well have been achieved in “standby mode,” that is, without using the device. This characteristic does not reflect real autonomy during active use. In addition, the ring is advertised with a branded charging case, so “180 days” may turn out to be the operating period, taking into account recharging from the case.
There is no information on the price and launch date yet, but since Black Shark has already released several teasers, the announcement could happen soon.
