WhatsApp Tests Screen Sharing Feature for Android Beta Testers
WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to share their screen with their contacts during video calls. A feature is currently in beta testing for some Android users.
The innovation was noticed in the beta version of WhatsApp 2.23.11.19 – it allows you to share the contents of your screen with other chat participants. Beforehand, the messenger requests permission to access. This can be useful for visually demonstrating the settings of a smartphone or any document without sending it to the interlocutors. In addition, judging by the published images, users will be able to save the screen demonstration in video format.
The screen sharing feature is similar to what other video calling platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams offer.
Another small change, according to the WABetainfo portal, will affect the user interface of the messenger – it will receive a slightly modified navigation bar. It is expected that in order to use the new features, the application will need to be updated to the latest version, but the release date has not yet been announced by the developers. Users who have registered in the beta testing program of the messenger can be among the first to try them out.
