Trump’s 1st Twitter Post In 2.5 Years Gets Millions Of Views
Former US President Donald Trump’s first post since 2021 on X (formerly Twitter) has garnered more than 74 million views since posting. The ex-president published his prison snapshot (mugshot), added captions: “election interference”, “never give up” and a link to his website.
Trump deliberately chose not to smile in the prison picture in order to look “defiant” in the picture, sources on the politician’s team told CNN. The ex-president himself, commenting on the mugshot, told Fox News: “They insisted that I take a picture, and I agreed. This is the only time I took a prison picture. It’s an unpleasant feeling, especially when you haven’t done anything wrong.”
Trump became the first officially arrested president in US history. On August 24, he arrived at an Atlanta jail as a defendant in a 2020 Georgia election interference case. He spent about 20 minutes in prison, going through the standard procedure: he was fingerprinted, photographed and weighed (97.5 kg), the police measured his height (1.9 m). After that, he was released on $200,000 bail. Trump denies interfering, he did not admit his loss to the current president of the country, Joe Biden, and demanded that the voting results in Georgia be cancelled.
