The Witcher: Blood Origin Debuts This Christmas
Spin-off The Witcher Blood Origin received the first teaser with the main cast
The Witcher: Blood Origin premieres on Christmas Day & December 25, 2022. The cast announced the launch date for the spin-off miniseries set in the Witcher universe at the Netflix Tudum event.
In Blood Origins, Michelle Yeoh will play Xian, the last survivor of an elven tribe whose mission is to recover a blade stolen from her people; Sophia Brown as Eile, once a member of the royal guard and now an itinerant musician; and Lawrence OFuarain as Fjall, who hails from a warrior clan.
Set in an elven world, 1 year before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin follows seven outcasts who band together in a quest for blood against an unstoppable force. The six-episode series explores major events such as the “Connection of the Spheres” that brought the worlds of humans, monsters, and elves together into one. While Geralt of Rivia and Vesemir are the most famous and beloved monster hunters, The Witcher: Origin of Blood offers a look at the very first prototype of the witcher – for those who do not know, these are genetic mutations.
