Mercedes G-Class Electric SUV Coming In 2024
Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kellenius told the media that the G-Class electric car will go on sale by the end of 2024, five years after the initial announcement.
Mercedes first unveiled the concept version of the Concept EQG electric SUV in September 2021, but did not provide any specific timeline for its introduction to the market. Kallenius himself, while promising a zero-emission version of the G-Class in 2019, said he wasn’t quite sure if the G-Wagen would have any future at all.
Last fall, Kallenius tested a prototype electric car at Mercedes’ proving ground in Graz, Austria, where the company usually evaluates the internal combustion engine version of the G-Class.
In 2030, the entire lineup of this car brand should consist only of hybrid and all-electric models, so we will see this car for sure, the only question is when.
