The Witcher 3 Developer Studio Is Creating A New Online Action Game
Former developers from CD Project RED founded a new studio, Dark Passenger, and are currently working on an untitled online game set in feudal Japan. The project is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 and will include a cooperative mode with PvP and PvE activities. The plot of the game tells about how a certain person overthrew the current shogun and took over the reins of power.
The first Dark Passenger game doesn’t have a title yet, but the studio’s website provides some details about the project. Ben and Michalsky say they want to create an online multiplayer game that supports both competitive and co-op play. They describe a title that sounds like it will borrow elements from games like Titanfall and Absolver.
“Our movement system will allow players to perform incredible feats such as running on arrows fired by other players, rapidly climbing vertical surfaces using shuko claws, or using the yari spear as a pole to jump over obstacles,” the studio said. “Participating in close combat will require as much dexterity as tactics and close cooperation with teammates.”
