The Updated Taycan Became The Most Powerful Production Porsche
Porsche has updated the Taycan family of electric vehicles, produced since 2019. For the most part, the modernization affected the technical content of the model, namely the power plant.
The buyer will be able to choose between two body types: a sedan and a sports station wagon, which in one of the modifications may also have a slight claim to off-road capability. There are four versions of the power plant and two types of drive: rear axle or all-wheel drive. In the first case, the car is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds versus 5.6 seconds for its predecessor; the all-wheel drive Taycan Turbo S accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds versus 2.8 seconds for its predecessor. In its maximum configuration, the Porsche Taycan’s power plant is capable of delivering 700 kW or 938 hp. A special button has appeared in the interior of the fastest versions of the electric car, allowing for a period of up to 10 seconds to deliver an additional 70 kW of power to the wheels for more active acceleration. The basic version of the electric car has become 60 kW more powerful, and the older Taycan Turbo S produces 140 kW more than its predecessor.
The charging speed has increased, as previously the electric car consumed a maximum of 270 kW, but now up to 320 kW. You can recharge the charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes.
Regarding the suspension, the changes are as follows: a pneumatic chassis is included in the basic version (in the American market), an option is the “smart” active suspension Porsche Active Ride.
There are few changes on the outside: the new product can be distinguished by the changed lighting technology. New body shades and two new interior trim options have been added to the palette.
The multimedia system in the cabin has been updated: it can now show streaming video.
With the update, the Porsche Taycan has risen in price by about $9,000-$15,000.The basic version has crossed the symbolic mark of $100,000 and now costs from $101,395. For the top-end Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo they are asking from $213,695.
