The New iPhone 15: What Is To Wait For
There is still a lot of time before the presentation of the iPhone 15 Pro and the new line of Apple smartphones in general. The company traditionally shows its new models in the fall, but leaks appear much earlier. 9to5Mac has obtained new information and CAD images of the iPhone 15 Pro design from accessory manufacturers, details of which have been confirmed by other sources.
According to an insider, the main external innovation is ultra-thin bezels around. The Pro 15 and 15 Pro Max are expected to be just 1.55mm wide. This is a record among all smartphones.
Thin bezels are thanks to the new LIPO technology, which has been used in the Apple Watch Series 7 and 8 for almost two years. Over time, this feature will turn into Apple tablets, but it is not yet clear when exactly this will happen.
Another notable innovation is that the proprietary Lightning will be replaced by a universal USB-C port. However, only the Pro versions will have increased data transfer rates, and directly to USB 4, which no competitors have. The younger models, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, will remain at the same data transfer rate as USB 2.0.
Also in the Pro versions, the side faces will be made of titanium, not stainless steel.
In addition to the new screens, the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro lines will get a number of other new features, marking the biggest update since 5G capability was added to the device three years ago.
