Tesla has reportedly presented a new version of its long-awaited Roadster, featuring technology designed to allow the vehicle to perform short aerial manoeuvres. The demonstration has sparked renewed interest in Elon Musk’s vision of combining electric cars with aerospace engineering.
According to claims made during the presentation, the prototype uses rocket-inspired propulsion technology developed with SpaceX. Musk has suggested that the vehicle could deliver extraordinary acceleration and briefly lift off the ground.

However, the project raises important questions about safety, regulation and commercial availability. A successful demonstration does not necessarily mean the vehicle can fly safely over long distances or operate legally on public roads.
Tesla’s next-generation Roadster was originally announced in 2017 and has faced repeated production delays. Although Musk has discussed ambitious performance targets, the final specifications and delivery timeline remain uncertain.
If the technology proves practical, the Roadster could represent a significant step towards a new category of high-performance vehicles. For now, however, the idea of a commercially available flying car remains an ambitious engineering challenge rather than an established reality.
