Russian Hackers Attacked American Airport Websites

More than a dozen public airport websites, including some of the nation’s largest airports, went down on the morning of October 10, and Russian-speaking hackers claimed responsibility.

According to the channel, 14 American air harbors, including the airports of Atlanta and Los Angeles, were subjected to a DDoS attack in the morning. CNN claims the airports were on the Killnet target list.

It is noted that cyber attacks did not affect the operation of airports, but for some time they complicated the search for information about flights for passengers.

The type of cyber attack used by Killnet is known as a “distributed denial of service” (DDoS) attack, in which hackers flood computer servers with fake web traffic to take them off the network.
