PayPal For iPhone Adds Support For Apple Tap To Pay
PayPal has announced that it will introduce new Apple-centric payment methods for those using PayPal and Venmo.
The company is working with Apple to expand offerings for merchants and PayPal and Venmo customers.
Soon, the PayPal and Venmo apps will accept contactless debit and credit cards, as well as payments using smartphones and smartwatches when connected to an iPhone.
The payments giant will also introduce other improvements to make its platforms work better with Apple Pay. Starting in 2023, US customers will be able to add their PayPal or Venmo credit or debit card to the Wallet app on iPhone and use it for contactless payments with Apple Pay.
Directly for PayPal, this is a unique chance to grow significantly as a competitor to the payment system Square, which launched a similar tool in September. Venmo is also being added as a payment option on Amazon.
