Opera Browser with AI is Available for Download

Opera has announced that its generative AI browser is ready for widespread use. Opera One is out of Early Access and available for download on Windows, Mac and Linux.

According to Opera, One has been completely redesigned to open up a new chapter in AI-enabled web surfing. The embedded artificial intelligence is called Aria and was created in collaboration with OpenAI. Aria uses Opera’s Composer AI engine and integrates with OpenAI’s GPT 3.5, while expanding its capabilities such as real-time web search results and access to all of Opera’s help documentation.

Aria is tightly integrated with the browser and users can easily interact with it using the key combination CTRL+/ or CMD+/ depending on the operating system. This brings up a command line to chat with Aria, which is similar to chatting with ChatGPT. There’s also an AI Prompts feature that allows Aria to react to text with contextual hints, and ChatGPT is available in the sidebar.

In addition to AI, Opera One includes the Tab Islands feature, which allows you to conveniently group tabs. This can be done automatically or manually. In addition, a new modular architecture and a multi-threaded compositor combine to create a browser that can dynamically adapt based on user actions, providing a faster and smoother experience through multi-threading.

The company noted that it has implemented a new architecture with a multi-threaded system to improve performance. It said it plans to release more AI-related updates in the near future.
