Nintendo Teams Up With Sony To Make A Movie Based On The Legend Of Zelda
After the huge success of the film about the Super Mario brothers, the Japanese company Nintendo is now planning to make a film based on its own series of games The Legend of Zelda. This is stated in a statement published on the company’s website.
We are talking about a full-length film with live actors. The film based on The Legend of Zelda will be financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The latter will also distribute films around the world.
The adaptation will be directed by Wes Ball, who directed Planet of the Apes and the Maze Runner trilogy, and produced by Avi Arad and Shigeru Miyamoto.
In the Nintendo microblog, the creator of The Legend of Zelda admitted that he had been working with Arad on a film based on the series for “many years,” but finally asked him to become a producer for the future film.
“We have now officially started production of the film. Nintendo will be actively involved. ItI will take some time to complete, so I hope you will look forward to it,” Miyamoto said.
