ASUS Revealed The Steam Deck “Killer”
On April 1, 2023, a video appeared on the ROG Global YouTube channel announcing the ASUS ROG Ally portable gaming PC. The network considered this an April Fool’s joke, as one of the company’s leaders posted a video on his LinkedIn page along with congratulations on April Fool’s Day.
On April 3rd, ASUS clarified that ROG Ally is a real product and not an April 1st joke. The company announced that they would share details about the device at a later date, but did not say when exactly to expect details.
The novelty is powered by an AMD Ryzen processor running the Windows 11 operating system. For especially resource-intensive games from the Xbox Game Pass collection, you can connect an external graphics card to it. The console itself, at the request of the user, is connected to a PC.
The device is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen with Full HD 1080p resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate. It’s thinner and lighter than its main competitor, Valve’s Steam Deck.
