Midjourney Image Generator Disabled Free Trial
Startup Midjourney has suspended the free trial version of the neuroalgorithm of the same name for generating images from a text description. The head of Midjourney, David Holtz, explained this to reporters by saying that “a huge number of people create one-time accounts for free image generation.”
Midjourney founder and CEO David Holz announced on the official Discord channel that the company is closing the free trial program “due to extreme demand as well as user abuse.” According to Holtz, the new Midjourney neural network safety rules were “insufficient” to prevent misuse of the AI image generator during the trial period. From now on, Midjourney users will have to pay $10 per month to use the technology.
Back in October it became known about the blacklist of words for requests to Midjourney. Now the company has expanded the blacklist by adding the term “arrest” there. Although The Verge was still able to get around the restriction through the request “Donald Trump in handcuffs, surrounded by police.”
