Meta Reactivate Trump’s Facebook And Instagram Accounts
The management of the Meta company decided to restore the accounts of the 45th US President Donald Trump. They will be activated within a week, specified on the company’s website.
As specified, Meta took such a step so that the public had the opportunity to “hear what politicians say” for an informed choice when voting.
Social media users can once again see Trump’s pages in them. The last entries there are dated January 6, 2021 – the day the Capitol was stormed in Washington.
In late January, Meta’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, said that Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts would be restored in the coming weeks.
“We are confident that the risk has been sufficiently reduced. As such, we will restore Mr. Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts in the coming weeks,” Clegg said in a statement posted on the Meta website.
He noted that in the future, if the rules were violated, Trump’s content could be deleted, and accounts could be blocked again for a period of one month to two years.
