Google Unveils Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Google has unveiled its new Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphone. It was presented at the big Made By Google presentation, which took place on August 13. This is the second foldable device in the Pixel line. Thanks to the new chip, it relies on the proprietary Gemini neural network, which will allow generating text and images, as well as performing other tasks.
The main OLED display of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a resolution of 2152 × 2076 pixels, a pixel density of 373 PPI and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz provides a maximum brightness of 2700 cd / m². The outer display has also become larger: its diagonal has increased from 5.8 inches to 6.3 inches. It supports a resolution of 2424 × 1080 pixels, has a pixel density of 422 PPI, and is protected from mechanical damage by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. In addition to this, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is slightly thinner than its predecessor.
The main camera of the device is located in a massive block that protrudes above the surface of the case. It combines a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor with a 10.5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 20x zoom via the Super Res Zoom function. It supports 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second. There are also a pair of front cameras of 10 MP each.
The first difference from the previous model was the name. If the previous “folding phone” was called Pixel Fold, now the name has been supplemented with the generation number of Google smartphones. The second important change is the new processor. The device has Google Tensor 4, as well as other recent devices.
