Google Preparing Conversation Capture Feature

Google is preparing to launch a new Conversation Capture feature for Android, which will expand the company’s ability to record and process conversations using artificial intelligence. Previously, this technology was only available to Pixel smartphone users, but the company now plans to make it part of a wider range of Android devices.
Conversation Capture is mentioned quite frequently in the code for the latest version of the Android System Intelligence app, reports
Android Authority: The feature, which goes by the internal codename Auris, largely replicates the capabilities of Recorder but has deep integration with Android and Gemini. Its purpose is to provide “summaries, transcripts, and suggested actions after important conversations like meetings, conferences, and more.” Conversation Capture has its own shortcut in the Quick Settings panel.
Once the conversation recording has been processed and a summary prepared, the user receives a notification. The transcript and summary can then be sent to Gemini. Transcripts include the conversation participants’ tags. Data can be stored either on the device or in the cloud; end-to-end encryption is provided. Google assures that it will not have access to this data unless the user consents.
Despite mentions of Conversation Capture found in the latest version of Android System Intelligence, the feature has not yet been activated during testing. It is expected that Google may officially unveil this innovation alongside the announcement of the new Pixel 11 smartphones, which are expected to launch soon.
