Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter Corporation, has canceled the decision to block the account of former US President Donald Trump.
Musk previously conducted a poll on his Twitter about Trump’s account recovery. More than 50% of those who answered spoke in favor of restoring the page of the ex-president. 15 million users took part in the voting.
Trump’s Twitter account was suspended in January 2021. According to the leadership of the social network, Trump’s statements after the storming of the Capitol organized by his supporters could provoke repeated attacks. At the time of the lockdown, Trump had over 88 million followers. More than 9 million people subscribed to the restored account of the former US president at the time of publication.
At the same time, Trump himself said that he did not intend to return to Twitter, reports Reuters. “I see no reason for this,” he said, speaking at the annual meeting of the leadership of the Republican Jewish Coalition.
