EA Shuts Down Apex Legends Mobile And Stops Development of Battlefield Mobile
EA has announced that they are shutting down the mobile version of Apex Legends. Users can no longer use the internal store, and the servers will be turned off in May 2023. The studio also suspended development of the mobile shooter Battlefield in order to reconsider the vision of the franchise.
Apex Legends Mobile was announced alongside the Nintendo Switch pro for Apex Legends, catching the attention of Nintendo fans who still don’t have access to popular battle royale titles like PUBG or Call of Duty: Warzone 2. Although the Nintendo port of the game Switch is expected to remain on the platform for the foreseeable future, the mobile version has been scaled back to direct development resources elsewhere.
