Deezer Can Now Recognize The Songs You Hum
Music streaming platform Deezer has made it much easier to find songs you don’t know the names of. In a blog post, the company announced its in-app SongCatcher song detector, which can now identify tunes that a user hums, whistles, or sings.
But since this is a completely new feature, you may have some problems with it, such as not recognizing the song you are humming. But, Alexandra Leloup, Deezer’s VP of Core Product, said the company will continue to improve the algorithm, and the feature will become faster and more accurate over time.
To use the new humming feature, you should open the Deezer app, click the Search tab, and click the SongCatcher button, the blue-green field that says “What song is this?”. By default, the app will try to the song playing around you, but with the press of a button, you can find the track you’re humming instead.
By the time this feature can get a lot better at identifying tracks. Alexandra Leloup, VP of Core Products at the company, explained, “As we continue to improve the algorithm, the feature will become faster and more accurate when it comes to recognizing songs in our library of 90 million tracks.”
