Cheaters in “Call of Duty” Will See the Clones of Real Players
The creators of the anti-cheat Ricochet, which is used in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022), have published another progress report. It was told about new measures to counter dishonest players.
Accounts of cheaters will not necessarily be blocked. Sometimes “soft” measures will be applied to them. For example, honest players in the eyes of the cheater will become invisible, and the weapon will disappear from the hands.
Such clones are designed to disorient cheaters. They move, look and interact with the world exactly like a real player, thus making him think that he is facing a real opponent.
The developers of the anti-cheat Ricochet claim that cheaters will not be able to distinguish a hallucination from a real player at first glance. The clones use the same types of hidden information as the players themselves with the forbidden tools, appearing near them. If a suspicious player interacts with the “hallucination” in one way or another, he will give himself away.
The Recochet team reminded that their main goal is to provide players with fun and safety. In case of detection of cheaters, they will understand why he was not automatically banned.
