The Indian automatic lunar station “Chandrayaan-3” has been successfully launched into lunar orbit. This was announced on Saturday by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
Chandrayaan-3 has been successfully launched into lunar orbit,” ISRO said in a message on the X social network (formerly Twitter). It is noted that further ISRO specialists will work on lowering the orbit.
Chandrayaan-3 was the third lunar exploration mission for India, which includes a transfer and descent modules, as well as a lunar rover. The launch took place in July this year. The descent vehicle is to make India’s first soft landing on the lunar surface on August 23, after which, together with the lunar rover, they will study regolith, plasma near the lunar surface and the seismic situation at the landing site for one lunar day.
