CD Projekt Red Reveals What to Expect from The Witcher 4

In an interview, CEO Michal Nowakowski confirmed that the team has learned from the mistakes made before the release of Cyberpunk 2077, and also talked about what the announcement and presentation of the next Witcher will look like.

According to CDPR VP of Engineering Charles Tremblay, the studio’s ambitions have not diminished even after switching from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5. The Witcher 4 will be released simultaneously on PC and consoles.

“The next game is not going to be smaller or worse. It’s going to be better, bigger, grander than The Witcher 3, and better than Cyberpunk 2077 — because it’s unacceptable for us [to ship the game like that]. We don’t want to take a step back,” Tremblay said.

The marketing campaign for Phantom Liberty lasted about six months. CD Projekt emphasizes that for The Witcher 4 this period should be more than a year, but at the same time less than two years. That is how long we should wait for the premiere.
