BMW Reveals The Neue Klasse Electric Concept Car
On September 2, the presentation of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse electric concept car took place. The event was held under a very loud and promising slogan – “BMW reinvents itself.” The company intends to repeat the success of the 1960s, when mid-size sedans of the New Class (BMW 1500/1600/1800/2000) opened a new chapter in the history of the renowned automaker.
On the front of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse there is a double grille, traditional for the Bavarian auto giant, in which LED headlights are now mounted. An electric car does not need a large air intake, so this is more of an aesthetic touch that sets the tone for the whole concept. Electronic ink screens are built into the transparent cover and side windows, which display information about the current state of the machine. The matte white body paint contrasts with the carbon fiber trim and 21-inch wheels.
Salon meets with bright yellow velvet seats. Central to the dashboard is a large parallelogram-shaped OLED display, the software platform is BMW Operating System 9. And at the base of the windshield, another display called BMW Panoramic Vision stretches across its entire width. This display and related functions are controlled by steering wheel controllers and an intelligent voice assistant with predictive machine learning. When the machine is put into sport mode, the information on this screen is displayed in a more concise format.
The car represents a number of technological innovations, with the help of which the BMW Group demonstrates its readiness for the challenges of the future. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse signals the beginning of a new era of individual mobility. It offers a rich digital experience, zero-emission mobility and long-term sustainability, ensuring typical BMW driving pleasure for generations to come.
