AMD Unveils Most Powerful 3D V-Cache Laptop Processor
AMD has developed the first mobile gaming processor to support 3D V-Cache technology. It allows you to significantly increase the amount of cache memory.
The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is a 16-core, 32-thread solution with a base frequency of 2.3GHz and a maximum frequency of 5.4GHz. The processor received the same core configuration as the Ryzen 7045 Dragon Range models with Zen 4 architecture.The main feature of the novelty was 64 MB of 3D V-Cache cache, installed on one of the CCD chiplets on top of 32 MB of regular L3 cache. Thus, the total amount of cache memory is 144 MB, including 16 MB L2.
The processor also includes an integrated graphics subsystem Radeon 610M on the RDNA 2 architecture. The declared power consumption of the chip is from 55 watts. AMD claims that the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is on average more than 15% faster than the regular Ryzen 9 7945HX in gaming.
The processor is built on the Zen 4 architecture and will appear in the first laptop very soon. Strix Scar 17 X3D from ROG will be the debut device based on the mobile Ryzen 9 7945X3D.
